A note from arranger/composer Don Chapman: The Christmas season is the most important time of the year for potential ministry growth: if people are ever going to visit a church it’s going to be around the holidays – especially on Christmas Eve.

For me, the problem was in my early days as a part-time church music director I’d be so busy trying to get ready for special Christmas programs that December Sundays would tend to fall through the cracks.

My personal Christmas philosophy for maximum holiday impact is to make Christmas Eve the most amazing, heart-warming and spiritual service of the year, and then do my best to make each December Sunday morning a little extra special. I’ve designed HymnCharts to help meet all these goals with:

Contemporary Carol Arrangements: I’ve played at a local contemporary church who literally dreaded the Christmas season because they felt like their usual music style was interrupted during December. I visited another ministry who didn’t sing a single Christmas song one week before Christmas! A hard and fast rule of ministry is: people in your congregation want to hear Christmas music at Christmas.
